Christine Crilley, Parenting Coordinator
Mediator, Trainer & Attorney at Law
Christine is a Parenting Coordinator, the current President of the Parenting Coordinators of Eastern Iowa, and trains Parenting Coordinators pursuant to standards set forth by the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.
She is a nationally approved trainer and mediator in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa Metro area. Her law and mediation center is located in Hiawatha, Iowa. Ms. Crilley is also a general practice attorney with over thirty years of experience, including the family law area.
As an Advanced Practitioner member of the Association for Conflict Resolution as well as a Linn County Family Law Roster Mediator, Christine mediates in a variety of different areas of the law and disputes. Ms. Crilley is a collaborative practicing lawyer and trainer, a Christian Conciliation Mediator, Large Group Facilitator, and Elder Care Mediator.
Ms. Crilley’s mediation training received national approval in 2011 from the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR). She received her mediation training in 1999 from the Iowa Peace Institute; earned her J.D. degree, with honors, from the University of Iowa in 1983 and her B.A. degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 1979. Also in 2011, Christine became a member of the Academy of International Collaborative Professionals as well as a member of the Collaborative Lawyers of Eastern Iowa.
Christine has sat on numerous Boards including the Iowa Mediation Services of Eastern Iowa and is the Chair of the Linn County Fee Arbitration Committee. Ms. Crilley currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Iowa Association of Mediators (IAM); she is a current or past member of various mediation / dispute resolution organizations. She is a former Contract Mediator for the City of Cedar Rapids as well as a member of the Linn County Bar Association and the Iowa Bar Association.
Ms. Crilley speaks for various organizations on a variety of law and dispute resolution related topics and in the Fall of 2009 began presenting seminars and mediation training at her Mediation and Law Center in Hiawatha, Iowa. She also trains collaborative professionals and parenting coordinators. Ms. Crilley has mediated over 1000 cases since she began mediating in 1999. In addition to being a mediation trainer, mediator and attorney, Ms. Crilley is also a former adjunct professor at Mount Mercy University, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she taught a general course in dispute resolution.
